Camper Van Assembly Technician

We are currently looking for a full-time Custom Camper Van Conversion Assembly Technician to join our team. This is an advanced assembly position. Direct, relevant experience is required.

After orientation, the candidate will be put in charge of leading and executing camper van conversion projects. This position is responsible for the construction, installation, finishing, and quality assurance of conversion components and equipment installed in our customers’ vans.

Broad mechanical, electrical, and woodworking knowledge, an acute attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required. This job requires that you be able to lift heavy objects and be on your feet 100% of the time. We are not an automated production shop. You will be working with your hands and doing all of the cool work that it takes to create our custom camper vans.

  • Work: Monday through Thursday 7am to 5:30pm. Three day weekends are automatic so you can enjoy living in Colorado!
  • Detail-oriented: must be able to make aesthetic design decisions, analyze faults, think through a complete installation process, and avoid likely problems prior to execution
  • Self-starter: take initiative in progressive steps on each project, be self-directed
  • Must be able to follow directions, work as a team, and work as an individual
  • Must take pride in work completed and always seek to improve quality and efficiency
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of general construction practices e.g. 12V electrical, wood working, metal working, and assembly
  • Experience safely operating hand tools and power tools (drill press, grinders, table saw, circular saw, cutoff wheel, chop saw, pneumatic nail gun, sanders, jig saw, spray adhesive, and other general shop tools)
  • Ability to read and understand production documentation: drawings, installation instructions, owner’s manuals, etc.
  • Assemble and install conversion components e.g. air heaters, solar panels, lithium battery systems, cabinetry, etc.
  • Fabricate components from raw materials, including steel and wood
  • Upholster and install wall and ceiling panels
  • Test systems in vehicle and verify proper operation
  • Maintain a safe and clean work space
  • Cut through body panels to install windows, fans, and solar systems
  • Install 12V DC and 110V AC wiring harnesses
  • Install, diagnose and repair wiring
  • Install, diagnose and repair 12V DC components and wiring including off road lights, interior lights, relays, fans, batteries, charge controllers and all other DC components
  • Install solar arrays and charging systems
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or finish carpentry
  • Strong knowledge of use, safety, and maintenance of power and hand woodworking tools (table saw, miter saw, circular saw, jigsaw, router, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of use, safety, and maintenance of power and hand metalworking tools (angle grinder, bench grinder, bandsaw, etc.) (welding knowledge a bonus)
  • Knowledge and experience working with standard and premium building materials and finishes (plywood, dimensional lumber, aluminum, steel sections, high-pressure laminate, vinyl, tile, etc.)
  • Understanding and comfort with material properties, fastening methods, failure mode, and structural stresses / loads.
  • Strong experience in power tool operation (drills, grinders, reciprocating saws, etc….)

Camper Van Designer / Engineer / CAD Expert

$55,000-$75,000, based upon demonstrated experience
📄 Experience: Direct CAD, CAM, or Design Engineering Experience. Electrical Engineering Degree or similar considered a strong plus.

We are currently looking for a full-time Custom Van Conversion Design Engineer who has strong experience in CAD to join our team. This is an mid-level position. Direct, relevant experience is preferred.

After orientation, the candidate will be put in charge of developing, leading and executing the design and engineering phases of our campervan conversion projects. This position is responsible for the CAD work, pdf portfolio creation (for customer approvals), materials and products selection, and implementation of our custom van designs.

This job requires you to work directly with our sales and marketing team, production team, and our customers. You will be working with both the design software and with out team in the shop to help them follow your designs and assemble them in the vans.

  • Customer communication: at times you will work directly with customers to understand their needs and communicate how we can fulfill them
  • Detail-oriented: must be able to make aesthetic design decisions, analyze design/engineering faults, think through a complete installation process, and avoid likely problems prior to execution
  • Self-starter: take initiative in progressive steps on each project, be self-directed
  • Must be able to follow directions, provide assembly instructions to our installation team, work as a team, and work as an individual
  • Must take pride in work completed and always seek to improve quality and efficiency
  • Bring new ideas to the table. Challenge existing assumptions. Dedicate yourself to designing and building user-focused, high-quality products.
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of general construction design and engineering practices e.g. 12V electrical, wood joinery, assembly, and translation to CAD / CAM
  • Ability to read and understand product documentation / inputs technical sheets: drawings, installation instructions, owner’s manuals, etc. and implement them in our CAD models
  • Maintain a clean and coherent file library in our design software
  • Adjust / edit existing files and templates as necessary for future use
  • Illustrate and assist Shop Manager and Installation Techs with installation as necessary
  • Work with customers to design and develop custom solutions for their applications
  • Streamline production and assembly processes through adjustments to existing design, engineering, and assembly processes
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or building design engineering
